Born and raised in Vancouver, British Columbia, Sean Frewer began his career directing and editing music videos, before transitioning into directing the 3D animated television series, Max Steel, and Spider Man: the Series.

Sean is a graduate of Norman Jewison’s Canadian Film Centre’s Director’s Lab. Since then he has directed several short films, including “How to Keep Your Day Job”, which screened at many international festivals; was invited to participate in Telefilm’s “Not Short on Talent” showcase at Clermont-Ferrand, and was nominated for Best Short Film at the 2014 DGC Awards. The film is currently being aired on the Sundance Channel.

In 2016, Sean transitioned into the commercial world. That year he was featured in Shoot Magazine’s 2016 New Director’s Showcase in New York City and has had his work showcased in the prestigious Luzer’s Archive and Best Ads of the World. The anti-racism campaign he directed for The Ontario Council of Agencies Serving Immigrants (OCASI) recently won in the PSA category at the 2017 Applied Arts Awards and was selected as part of Strategy’s 2017 “Nice” list.

He is currently in development on the feature film “Unconditional”.
