Bio

An accomplished director, Sean Frewer is a graduate of the esteemed Canadian Film Centre’s Director’s Lab.  Sean began his career directing and editing music videos, as well directing a number of popular animated television series, including Heavy Gear, Max Steel, and Spider Man: the Series.

Since his move from Vancouver to Toronto, Sean has firmly planted his feet in live action narrative and has directed several award-winning short films, including “How to Keep Your Day Job,” which screened at numerous international film festivals, was nominated for Best Short Film at the DGC Awards, and is currently available on the Sundance Channel.

He has also been recognized in the commercial world, featured in Shoot Magazine’s New Director’s Showcase and showcased in Lürzer’s Archive and Best Ads of the World.

Sean’s outstanding work in directing the anti-racism campaign for The Ontario Council of Agencies Serving Immigrants (OCASI) earned him the PSA category win at the Applied Arts Awards and was selected as part of Strategy’s “Nice” list. He has also won MOFILM London’s Award for his short doc “Family,” for Chevrolet.

With his exceptional talent, creative vision, and dedication to the craft of filmmaking, Sean continues to create captivating and thought-provoking content that resonates with audiences around the world.
